NEW HERITAGE CENTER

Museum Expansion to Heritage Center
The Museum is growing by leaps and bounds...

10 years ago, the Ouray County Ranch History Museum was able to secure (through a generous long-term lease) a 10-acre parcel due east of the Ridgway library. This site occupies the northern half of a larger acreage occupied by both the Ranch Museum and the Ridgway Railroad Museum. Our vision and plans have now evolved into what will become:
SouthWest Colorado Ranch Heritage Center
To achieve this new goal, we are launching a Capital Campaign due to commence in the fourth quarter of 2026.
Please consider joining other donors to our 501c3 non-profit Organization, eligible for tax-deductions as well as a yearly 25% state tax-credit up to $100,000 through our Colorado Region 10 Enterprise Zone project (i.e. $400k).
The centerpiece of our Heritage Center will be a new 7,000 square-foot structure needed to house and display our extensive artifact collection, gallery, and learning areas.
Our leaps forward have begun; we are now asking for your help as we begin our journey to this next step - toward a new Ranch Heritage Center.
The hope and perseverance shown by the ever-changing SW legacy ranchers and families continue to evolve, and our Ranch Heritage Center will offer all a place to enjoy (storytelling, images & film, documents), protect, and continue learning from this important cultural and economic livelihood.
