This VERY special one-day Gallery Show highlights Frances Talbert, a native of Ridgway, who grew up in Pleasant Valley on the Fournier Ranch and spent 90% of her 98 years here in our area. A selection of her exquisite jewelry/belt collection, purchased in
the 1970’s-1990’s, will be available for purchase. We also will have free MULE RIDES, Sunrise Burrito Food truck, and the museum will be selling generous slices of home-baked Apple pie for our fundraiser that day to go with those burritos.
PARKING IS AVAILABLE ON RAILROAD STREET parking lots.

Ridgway Old West Fest
50 Years of the True Grit
Join us for the Old West Fest to celebrate John Wayne and the 50th Anniversary of the True Grit movie. Our town will be filled with lots of special events. Join our Chuck Wagon Dinner with activities for the kids or sign up for an audio tour to the movie set locations with us. Come to the museum to learn how to pack mules for the high country and visit with Bob DeJulio, specialty painter hired by Paramount for the True Grit movie buildings.

​Chuck Wagon dinner with music: Get your tickets soon for this event! The Ouray County Ranch History Museum will be hosting this wonderful chuck wagon dinner as a Fundraising private event at the Cimarron Ridge Ranch. Roping lessons, horse rides, and music by Heather & Douglas are included. Tickets $60 for adults; $25 for children (participation limited to 75). Visit with Bob DeJulio, Paramount’s specialty painter for the True Grit movie: Come and chat with Bob DeJulio and hear first-hand stories about painting sets for and working with the cast and crew of the 1968 movie True Grit (released in 1969). 3:00-4:30 pm Friday at the Ouray County Ranch History Museum, 321 Sherman St. Suggested $5 admission donation.​

OC Ranch History Museum’s collection of original photographs taken during the True Grit filming: Gallery showing of never-before-seen black & white and color images of locations, locals, and actor test scenes during True Grit production. These images plus the True Grit: A 50 Year Tribute book and locally made gift items and cards may be purchased in the museum’s gift shop. The original True Grit jail wagon makes a fine photo op and is also located on the museum grounds.
